Recording stuck on “Uploading”, “Creating” or “Retry”
If your recording is stuck on “Uploading”, “Creating”, or shows a “Retry” button, it usually means the process was interrupted or couldn’t complete.
In most cases, this can be resolved by retrying the upload.
What these statuses mean
Uploading → Your recording is being sent to our servers
Creating → Your transcript and notes are being generated
Retry → The process failed and needs to be restarted

Most common causes
This usually happens due to:
Weak or unstable internet connection
The app being closed during upload or processing
Temporary interruptions (such as locking your phone or switching apps)
Longer recordings that take more time to process
What you can do
If your note is stuck, try the following:
Check your connection
Make sure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi or cellular network.
Retry the process
If you see a Retry button:
👉 Tap it to restart the upload and processing
Keep the app open
After tapping Retry, keep the Echo app open for a short time.
Avoid immediately switching apps or locking your phone, as this can interrupt the upload.
Allow time for processing
If the status is Creating, the upload has usually completed and your note is being processed.
Longer recordings may take more time to finish.
If it still doesn’t work
If tapping “Retry” does not resolve the issue, it likely means there was a problem during the upload process.
In some cases, this can result in the recording not being fully uploaded, which may make it impossible to recover.
However, we can still check if anything can be restored.
Please contact support and include:
• A screenshot of the note
• Your Debug ID (Echo → Settings → Feedback & Support)
We’ll do our best to investigate and let you know if recovery is possible.
Important tips
To avoid this in the future:
Tap Generate Notes soon after finishing your recording
Use a stable connection
Keep the app open while the upload is completing
