Does Echo work with AirPods?

How it works

When using AirPods, Echo records audio through the active microphone. This may be either your iPhone’s microphone or your AirPods’ microphone, depending on your device and audio settings.

What you can record

With AirPods, you can record your own voice and conversations around you. You can also use Echo during meetings by recording the sound from nearby speakers.

Important limitations

Echo only records what the microphone picks up.

It does not capture system audio from your device, audio directly from phone calls, or sound played inside apps such as Zoom or YouTube.

Best practices

For the best results, speak clearly and make sure the microphone (AirPods or iPhone) is close enough to capture all voices.
